Boneshaker Books is a community supported and volunteer-run bookstore with a mission to promotes social justice and movements through books, education, and activism. They offer progressive and radical literature and a place to spark conversation, inform, and inspire.

The bookstore has been evolving since 2020 and we are watching and hoping for more family-friendly offerings in the future. In the meantime, if you love used books, you can often find great deals at this store.

What happened to Madeline & Sam’s Magical Story Time at Boneshaker Books?

Note: This story time has been on hiatus since 2020. We hope to see it return someday, but volunteer-run organizations change often, so it may be a whole new story time when and if it returns.

Boneshaker’s describes Madeline & Sam’s Magical Story Time as a “story time with a mission. Held every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, these story times will include books that shine a spotlight on a wide array of racial and cultural identities, genders, orientations, experiences, and abilities, with a goal of fostering self love, empathy and greater understanding. Story times will include wiggle parties and coloring pages that correlate with that weeks books.
