Description

A FREE celebration of fiber arts including a Makers Market, demonstrations and exhibits, and a community project – Fiber Pollinator Garden. Enjoy music and coffee as you browse and participate in the community project. Friday 5:30-8pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. All ages but best for families with older grade school and teens interested in artmaking

Family Fun includes

• Scavenger Hunt: Visitors can grab a Scavenger Hunt Bingo Card to mark off while they explore the event.
• Artist Demos offering hands-on opportunities to try block printing, needle felting, punch needle, plarn making + weaving, and quilting.
• Community Art Project: If you want to add to the Fiber Pollinator Garden project – bring in your pollinator by February 19th. Then enjoy the completed project during the event.
• Exhibitions and Info Tables: Learn more about different kinds of fiber art and view works in the galleries.
• Friday Night Music Music: DJ Jacques will bring the music on Friday evening.

Textile Center for Fiber Art: Experience a day of creativity and fun for the whole family at the Textile Center in Minneapolis. While much of this national center for fiber art is geared toward adult makers, they do offer classes for kids and families, birthday parties, and summer camps. The galleries are open to the general public and can make a low-key introduction to art galleries and museums for young kids. LEARN MORE»
