Westwood Park is the playground adjacent to Westwood Elementary School in Bloomington. It is 4.1 acres and has family-friendly amenities that include the playground and sports fields/courts. In the winter, the city maintains outdoor rinks at this location. There is off-street parking available. Westwood has two outdoor hockey rinks and a general rink. Weather permitting, Bloomington maintains outdoor rinks from mid-December to mid-February. Westwood rinks are open and staffed daily between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.on weekdays; between noon and 9 p.m. on Saturdays and school release days; and between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sundays. Note that there are three days in 2017/2018 with special hours of noon to 4 p.m. These are Christmas Eve (12/24), New Years Eve (12/31) and Monday, February 5th. Floodlights are utilized after dark. Kids under 15 can participate in Bloomington’s Polar Passport Program by picking up a passport at this location and then collecting stamps at other participating rinks.
