Washburn Avenue Totlot is one of MPRB’s “tiny parks“. You won’t find these parks on the official parks list, but they are intended to provide an attractive neighborhood focal point. Nestled between homes in its southwest Minneapolis neighborhood, this park offers a small playground as well as green space. It does not have restroom amenities. The nearest recreation center is a half-mile east on 58th Street at Armatage Park. While it took longer than originally projected and the final results are quite different than some of the “dream project” ideas, work on the playground finally began in autumn of 2018 and was finished as snow was hitting the ground in November. MPRB and Washburn neighborhood celebrated the Grand reopening Grand Reopening in August of 2019. The project replaced old play structures and resurfaced both playground areas to meet current safety and accessibility standards.Washburn Avenue Totlot Playground Replacement Project
