Valley View Playfield is a large sports park (nearly 35 acres) in Bloomington that encompasses several playfields, a skate park, and the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center. There are several parking lots near the various playfields and elements of the park.

Restrooms & Fountains

The park has seasonal restrooms and a drinking fountain from May through September. Find them both at the field house, which is open 8am to 10pm most weekdays. There is also a portable toilet on site between May and October.

Picnics at ValleyView Playfield

Families can use the picnic table on a first come, first serve basis or there is a large green space to spread a picnic blanket.

Mobile Rec at Valley View Playfield

This is one of a handful of parks that traditionally participates in Bloomington’s Mobile Rec program for kids ages 18 and under. Mobile Recreation provides FREE, drop-in summer programming, including activities like:
  • Kickball
  • Spikeball
  • Arts & crafts
  • Pop-up disc golf
  • Slacklining
  • Parachutes

Valley View Skate Park

The unsupervised skate park is free to use and open to the public beginning at 8am. During the summer months (May through September), skating closes at 10pm and at sunset the rest of the year. There are lights available during the summer months upon request to the park attendant.
