This Park Is In The Planning Stages

Stagecoach Park is a planned neighborhood park that will be located on Stagecoach Road in Shakopee. This is an area of the city that does not currently have a park, and this plan will fill that need. The park will have a small off-street parking lot. Construction is expected to begin in 2020 – maybe by late summer.

Coming Family Fun at Stagecoach Park

Once this park is finished, families will be able to:

  1. Pack a picnic for some outdoor dining. There will be a picnic table and grill available at the park.
  2. Go for a walk along both natural and hard surface trails that wind through a natural oak savanna.
  3. Play yard games on the turf lawn area. This is a good park to bring some playground equipment for games that require spreading out.

Environmental Preservation

The park’s land is a large, historic oak savanna, and the park’s plans include preserving these trees. Neighbors particularly wanted trails to wind through this preserved area and these have been worked into the plan.
