Shingle Creek Park offers family friendly amenities that include a playground, a wading pool and sports fields and courts. In the winter the park also maintains an ice rink and hockey rink. Shingle Creek Park shares space with Olson Elementary School; therefore, its wading pool will opens in early June, after school releases and closes in late August, before school resumes. Minneapolis Parks do not employ life guards for their wading pools. This is an older, basic wading pool. During the summer season, it is open for public use from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
