Salo Park in Saint Anthony is not-so-much a park as a stormwater pond behind a shopping complex. You won’t be spending a full day at this little pocket park, but the city and developers have done a nice job of making it attractive to both people and waterfowl (mostly ducks and geese). With the addition of walking paths and an amphitheatre, it provides enjoyable summer evenings of music and strolling.

  1. Watching the ducks
  2. Enjoying the weekly summer concerts
  3. Looking for Milkweed (and maybe a monarch caterpillar!)
  4. Grabbing ice cream treats from Cub Foods or the ice cream shop and enjoying them by the pond.
  5. Walking or biking around the pond. The trail was resurfaced in 2021 and is great for bikes and strollers.

Watching the Ducks is almost as much fun as the concert

Salo Park Concert Series

During the months of June through August, weekly concerts are held on Thursday evenings. These casual concerts are a great spontaneous outing and can include a walk around the pond and maybe even ice cream.
