Lockwood Park is a neighborhood park with a large, flat and square terrain. The park is relatively small, but more than half of it is open green space that can be used for a variety of activities, like football, soccer, and softball. 5 Ideas for Family Fun at Lockwood Park

Because of the size of the open space, this is a good park to bring an arsenal of outdoor toys. Frisbees, jump ropes and playground balls could all be used in the large open space. Other ideas include:

1. Play together on the playground. This park will appeal most to younger kids, but there are a few elements to entertain school age kids for a short time.
2. Have a swinging contest. See who can swing the highest, lowest, fastest, slowest.
3. Dig in the sand. It could be fun to bring a sifter and/or some tiny trucks.

5. Pack a picnic for a lunch and play date. Parents can easily watch the playground from the picnic tables.
