5 Things for Families at Hazelwood Park

  1. Play on the playground. The children’s play area has a sand floor and a equipment that begs for timed ninja challenges. Parents can sit so that they can keep an eye on both the playground and the soccer field.
  2. Walk around the lake. The paved internal trail system is stroller friendly and lined with wildflowers in the summer.
  3. Have a picnic. There is plenty of green space and a picnic shelter that can hold up to 24 people. (The shelter is reservable, so it may not always be available for impromptu picnics.)
  4. Bring your soccer ball for some family practice. This park has 6 soccer fields. If there is no game going on, the fields offer plenty of green space to run – with or without a ball.
  5. Go sledding. Take advantage of the inward-facing slopes for a traffic-free sledding date.
