Hayden Heights Recreation Center has many activities to offer families looking for free or inexpensive together time. Included in its offerings is a playground, a gym, a skate rink with warming room, sports fields and a picnic area. This location has served meals as part of Saint Paul Parks free summer meals program for children under age 18. The schedule has included a snack between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and a meal between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please call ahead or check the official website to confirm this program. Like most St. Paul Recreational Centers, this facility rents rooms by the hour for private events, including birthday parties. A list of prices is available HERE in PDF format. Rooms at this facility include a craft room, a game room (not rentable, but maybe could be used?), a medium-sized gym, a kitchen, a meeting room and the warming room of the skate rink. The City of St. Paul provides an outdoor rink with a warming house at Hayden Heights. St. Paul rinks are also free and open for public use when weather and ice quality cooperate. Warming house hours are Monday through Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., and Fridays between 3:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Find up-to-date information on St. Paul Outdoor Rinks Here.
