Located next to Lebanon Hills Regional Park, George Ohmann Park in Eagan is currently used mainly as a sports-field park. However, it does offer families a playground and a sun shelter with restrooms. It will also be expanded in 2018 with more family-friendly amenities. This park offers a good-sized parking lot for offstreet parking. This park is one of two parks where visitors can fly their drones with a permit ($20). Unlike most of Eagan, Ohmann lies outside of restricted fly zones. Eagan has designated the large green areas of the park as the best places to fly without impacting other park activities. Because of Eagan’s close proximity to the airport, there are quite a few restrictions and safety guidelines. You can find that information here. This park is scheduled for an expansion project beginning in 2018. Some new amenities being considered are additional space for movement of rectangle fields; amenities for recreational use (including “adult fitness pods” which look like a grown-up playground to me); new trail connections and landscaping.
