Maplewood Neighborhood Preserves are open Dawn to Dusk

Fish Creek Natural Area is one of 14 neighborhood preserves in Maplewood. This 70-acre park is next to the larger Ramsey County park, Fish Creek Open Space. Together, the parks form over 200 acres of the Fish Creek Greenway. Families and their leashed pets will enjoy visiting to walk or bike the trails. It’s a good park for spotting raptors, songbirds, foxes, coyote, and deer. Note: There are no restroom facilities at this park.

Maplewood Nature Center often hosts events here.

Fish Creek Trail

A new trail, which runs through both Maplewood & Ramsey areas, was finished in November 2016 and is officially open; however the ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 2017.  The trail is asphalt, so families can bike, blade, skate, or walk it with a stroller. The main loop is just under 1 mile, making it a doable hike for most young kids (especially if wheels are involved). Follow the loop to the top of a bluff, through woodlands and restored prairie.
