Wellstone Community Center (a/k/a El Rio Vista Recreation Center) has several offerings for family entertainment, fitness and education. Amenities include two gyms, sports fields and a dance studio. Note that this facility does not currently offer open gym or tot times.

Rec Tech Lab at El Rio Vista Recreation Center

Installation of the new modern computer facilities at this location is complete. Community members can use the lab to develop computer literacy and skills. Other rec centers with modernized computer labs coming include Martin Luther King Recreation Center, Jimmy Lee Recreation Center and Dayton’s Bluff Recreation Center. Hazel Park Recreation Center and Rice Recreation Center Teen Zone will be updated soon. St. Paul Parks and Recreation will also host training sessions in these recreation centers.

Birthday Parties at Wellstone Community Center

St. Paul Recreational Centers have rooms available for rent. Rooms at Wellstone Community Center include, two large gyms, a kitchen, a small meeting and a small lounge. Learn more about Rec Center rentals here.

Gilbert De La O Athletic Field

The updated field opened in October of 2016 with improvements that include a multi-purpose artificial turf field for multiple field sports.

Free Summer Meals at Wellstone Community Center

Saint Paul Parks provides free summer meals at recreation centers for youth 18 years of age and under. This location has participated. For more information, call 651-292-6508.

Summer Rec Check at Wellstone Community Center

Rec Check is a free program for kids who will be going into grades 1-6. Programs are offered on school release days and summer vacation. Summer programs at most locations are Monday-Thursday afternoons from mid-June to mid-August. Activities include crafts, art, tennis, cooking, swimming, gym games, water fun, outdoor nature activities, outdoor play, fitness, kitchen science and more.
