Eagan Central Park is home to the city’s Community Center (which includes The Blast Indoor Playground) and the city’s Festival Grounds. The outdoor portion of the park has sports courts and fields, a fitness obstacle course geared more toward older kids and adults, playground equipment for the younger kids. One unique feature of the playground is a set of natural balance beams. There is bandshell for community entertainment that features summer concerts. The new Eagan Splash Pad — the only splash pad in the city — resides in Central Park. When the weather is not cooperating for outdoor fun, Eagan Community Center also provides the Blast Indoor Playground. The playground offers indoor play on a space-themed climbing structure, preschool open play times and birthday party options. Find more information at the link above. For the active family, the park offers miles of walking trails through beautiful landscaping. The trails are paved and stroller friendly. While walking, families can visit the veterans memorial plaza along these trails. Wednesday nights during the summer months, Eagan Central Park hosts the city’s farmer’s market, Market Fest from 4-8pm. Bring the family to shop for fresh produce, enjoy dinner al fresco style, live music and other family-friendly activities. The video below was created by the City of Eagan to showcase the park’s best features:
Central Park Splash Pad opened the summer of 2018 and has quickly become one of the most popular splash pads in the Twin Cities. This free water play feature has sprays and bubblers for kids to enjoy. It’s open from 9am to 8pm daily. The city has splash pad rules on its website. Find it next to the Eagan Festival Grounds Pavilion near the Eagan Community Center. Core Valley is an all-ages, custom-designed fitness playground. It was built to encourage outdoor natural play and includes large logs, placed at angles and at varied heights. Visitors are encouraged to climb over, crawl under or swing on the equipment to reach their fitness goals. The pavilion is located just off the parking lot closest to Pilot Knob Road and can be reserved for private events, like birthday parties. There is room for up to 130 guests. The pavilion amenities include restrooms, a kitchen with running water, utilities and electricity, grills and picnic tables. Prices vary by time and residency. The City of Eagan will be removing the existing shade structure and adding vertical signs at the entrance to the Festival Grounds. They will also landscape the area to match the existing landscaping in Central Park.Related Articles:
