Bass Creek Park is an approximately 80 acre neighborhood park in Brooklyn Park. Over 74 of those acres are natural areas. Family friendly amenities include a playground, sports courtsĀ and approximately a half mile of hiking trails. In the winter, this park is popular for its sledding.Ā Note that Bass Creek flows through this park and it is the location of one of the Cityās reservoir and associated well house.Ā Off street parking is available. This park offers a wide, medium slope sledding hill during the snowy months.Ā There is enough room for multiple sledders and children of all ages should be able to find a slope that is appropriate for their needs. Find more Twin Cities sledding hills here. Brooklyn Park is proud of its pickleball courts. They describe the game as “a miniature version of tennis or a gigantic version of ping pong”. Outdoor courts are available at this park. They city allows geocaching in its park under certain restrictions. There is at least one cache hidden in this park. This City of Brooklyn Park is considering updates to this park including reconstruction of the Boone Avenue parking lot; possible relocation and expansion of the playground; expansion of theĀ walking path to eliminate the need for walking in the street; aĀ natural resource plan to preserve the natural areas within the park; and possibly aĀ mountain biking course.
