Ainsworth Park is a neighborhood park in St. Louis Park. Family friendly amenities include a small playground, a picnic shelter, a community garden and a sledding hill in winter. If you visit this park, we welcome reader opinions. Leave us a message or send us a photo that you would like us to share. In case you are interested in local history, this park is named for S. Earl Ainsworth, who you can learn more about from the St. Louis Park Historical Society. The playground is small with standard equipment. It has a nice direct sight-line from an open picnic shelter a few feet away. Parents have the option of sitting in the shady shelter or on one of the benches surrounding the playground, which may or may not be shaded depending on time of day. This is one of the parks that St. Louis Park recommends for sledding in the snowy months. It is not a lighted hill.
