Nicollet Island Park is part of the larger Central Mississippi Riverfront Regional Park. I’m not really certain where one park stops and another begins in this group, but they are all beautiful places to explore — both for the urban nature and for the historical sites. There is no playground equipment at this park, but there are walking paths to explore and the Mississippi to view. This park is close to several restaurants and St. Anthony Main Theatre. This park also hosts summer music and movies as well as a few festivals. The combined riverfront parks are the location of the July 4th Red White & Boom Celebration.
