FREE TUESDAY at WASHINGTON COUNTY PARKS 

Explore Washington County Parks free on the first Tuesday of every month (non-holiday). No vehicle permit required. Find a listing of parks here. This would be the perfect day to visit LAKE ELMO PARK RESERVE SWIM POND for free! The chlorinated pond has a sand bottom and beach. June 7, 2022.

Minneapolis Movies in the Parks

The Commons, 425 Portland Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55415
The movie The Princess Bride will be screened. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, snacks and some bug spray. If you’re able consider taking the light rail into downtown; the park is about a block away from the station and my kids think the train ride is part of the fun. June 8, 2022, 8-10pm. FREE.

FREE concerts and activities in front of the conservatory. Some food and beverages will be available to purchase. Concerts will take place in visitor center if it rains. June 8, 2022, 6pm-8pm. 

Bonus Fun: Como Zoo is open until 6pm. Make a reservation and have a day at the zoo before the concert. Or just pack a picnic and enjoy some fun playground time.

Thursday night movies in the park

WOODBURY: Starlight Cinema Outdoor Summer children’s series

Ojibway Park, 2695 Ojibway Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125
This is a free event featuring kids movies in the park; activities start at 7pm and movie is screened at dusk. Tonight’s outdoor movie in the park is Encanto. June 9, 2022.

LIL’ EXPLORER THURSDAYS AT COMO ZOO

The beloved (at least by my family) preschool program is finally back offering weekly themed activities to the 4-and-under set. Think sand tables, sponge painting, worm digs and interactive storytimes. Remember, a reservation to visit the Zoo is free, but required. June 9, 2022, 10am-12pm.

Opening Day at Shady Oak Beach

The sanded beach spans 76 feet across the shoreline of a clear spring-fed lake. The lake is deep enough to allow the beach a high dive. Visitors can also rent canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. June 10, 2022. Admission $6/pp.
