Twin Cities Free & Budget Family Events for November 14-15, 2015

Have you heard that the popular open houses at Brickmania Toyworks have re-opened the second Saturday of each month? They are no longer free, but a family of four can attend for $10 and enjoy the LEGO train layouts, play tables and much more. Also this weekend are free tours at the Raptor Center on the U of M St. Paul campus and a host of free family programs hosted by Three Rivers Parks. Raptor Center Free Tours
@ Gabbert Raptor Center
1920 Fitch Ave, St. Paul

When: Friday, Nov. 13 & Saturday, Nov. 14 • 10:30am-3:30pm Fri., 12:30-3:30pm Sat.
Cost: FREE
Details: Bring kids of any age for a fun and educational visit to the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center. Check out their remodeled raptor habitats, and get up close to bald eagles, kestrels, owls and falcons. The Raptor Center treats about 800 injured birds a year with the goal of releasing them back to the wild. Read more about taking kids to the Raptor Center here.

Brickmania Open House
@ Brickmania Toyworks

When: 10am-4pm (second Saturdays of the month only)
Cost: $5/pp or $10/group of 4
Details: The popular open houses at Brickmania Toyworks have returned! Every second Saturday of the month the doors open on the LEGO train layouts, K’NEX sculpture, LEGO play area and more. Read about bringing kids to the Brickmania open house here.

Tamarack Tykes: R is for Recycling
@ Tamarack Nature Center

When: Saturday, Nov. 14 • 9:30-11am
Cost: $9.75/adult & child pair, $6.50 additional child; $3.75 additional adult
Details: Observe America Recycles Day by making gift paper and name place tags as you learn about paper and how we can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle it.

@ Minnesota Children’s Museum
10 7th St W, St Paul, 55102

Time: 9am – 5pm
Ages: All ages attend free!
Details: Explore the museum free, including the newest exhibit The Amazing Castle thanks to the generosity of Target. Keep in mind that the museum is currently under renovation and many exhibits are currently closed.

Furs & Feathers for Winter @ Eastman Nature Center, 1-4pm
Furbearing Animals @ Carl Kroening Interpretive Center, 1-3pm
