CANCELLED FESTIVALS IN 2020

Mac-Grove Fest | Groveland Park, St. Paul
Live entertainment, fire truck visit, and crafts. Activities include climbing wall, bounce house, gaga pit, etc. FREE.

Burnsville Fire Muster
Don’t miss the fire truck demonstrations, annual community and fire truck parade and fireworks. FREE. (Sept 9-12, 2020)

Inver Grove Heights Days
Community Family Fun Night, kids treasure hunt, grand parade and fireworks. FREE admission. $3 Button required for many events, including Family Fun Night and Kids Treasure Hunt. (Sept 10-13, 2020)

James J. Hill Days | Lake Street, Downtown Wayzata
$5 cruises on the Steamboat Minnehaha, a carnival, parade, and fireworks. FREE. (Sept 11-13, 2020)

Plymouth on Parade | Plymouth City Center
The parade kicks off at 10:30 followed by free family activities such as ice skating and swimming. FREE. (Sept 12, 2020)

Blaine World Fest | Blaine
Cultural learning booths, and ethnic food vendors and food trucks. 1-4pm. FREE. (Sept 12, 2020)

Golden Valley Arts & Music Festival | City Hall Campus
Family-friendly live entertainment, games, art activities and artist vendors to browse. (Sept 12, 2020)

Edina Fall into the Arts Festival | Centennial Lakes Park, Edina
A nice excuse to enjoy the outdoors while the weather is still nice while viewing works by local and regional artists. FREE. (Sept 12-13, 2020)

Grape Stomp Festival | St. Croix Vineyards
Grape stomping competitions for both children and adults, live music and tours. FREE. (Sept 12-13, 2020)

 

Bayport Derby Days | Lakeside Park, Bayport
Duck Derby, community kickball, kid-friendly activities, bonfire and ice cream social, fireworks over the St. Croix River. (Sept 18-19, 2020)

Johnstock | Johnson St NE, Minneapolis (Sept 18-19, 2020)
A community neighborhood festival.

Wild Rice Festival | Harriet Alexander Nature Center, Roseville
Games for all, activities with Gibbs Farm, Native American dancing and drumming, hands-on demos and much more. 10am-4pm, FREE admission. (Sept 19, 2020)

Minnesota Children’s Book Festival | Anderson Center, Red Wing
One of Family Fun Twin Cities favorite annual events! Meet local children’s book authors, hear them read from their books and purchase a signed copy. There are also games, activities and art projects and it is always a beautiful drive. (Sept 19, 2020)

Bloomington Heritage Days | Nativity of Mary Catholic Church grounds
Live music and performing arts, parade. FREE admission. PARADE POSSIBLE, OTHER EVENTS CANCELLED FOR 2020.

East Harriet Fall Fest | Minneapolis
Kids activities and facepainting, music, free massages. 11am-4pm, FREE. (Sept 19, 2020)

Fulton Fall Festival | Pershing Park, Minneapolis
A bike parade, inflatables, carnival games and a petting zoo. 11am-3pm, FREE. (9/14/19)

Excelsior Apple Day | Downtown Excelsior
Tots will love the Happy Apple Kids Corner, parents may like the artisan vendors, music and street dance. 9am-10pm, FREE. (Sept 19, 2020)

Lone Oak Days Fall Festival | Holz Farm, Eagan
Old fashioned fun farm includes pedal tractors, kids coin hunt, animals in the barn, fun farm chores & more. 11am-4pm, $2/admission. (Sept 19, 2020)

Free samples! 11am-5pm. FREE admission. (Sept 20, 2020)

Apple Festival | Gibbs Farm, Falcon Heights
All things apple! Treats, games, crafts, a tour through the orchard, and all food included. 10am-4pm, $5-$8/pp.

 

Pan-O-Prog – Lakeville’s Summer Festival (Postponed from 7/4-11/20.)

Fall Raptor Release | Carpenter Nature Center, Hastings
The Raptor Center releases rehabbed birds at 11am & 2pm plus wagon rides, kids activities and educational displays. 10am-3pm, FREE admission. (Sept 26, 2020)

Afton Art in the Park | Town Square Park
Art vendors and Franconia Sculpture Park’s free art pavilion for kids with fall crafts and spin art. 10am-5pm, FREE admission. (Sept 26-27, 2020)

Open Streets on 50th | W 50th Street, Edina
Visit the shopping district for food samplings, free fitness activities, music, games and more. 1-5pm, FREE. (Sept 27, 2020)

2020 SEPTEMBER FESTIVALS NOT ANNOUNCED

CountryFest | St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Oak Grove
Entertainment, kids games and food. FREE. (9/6-8/19)

Johnny Appleseed Day | Bruentrup Heritage Farm, Maplewood
Bouncy house, haywagon rides, cider-making, old-fashioned cars, try to work a pedal tractor, cornhusk craft, butter making and face painting. 12-4pm, FREE. (Sept 8, 2019)

Japanese Garden Festival | Normandale Japanese Garden
Garden tours, sword demos and kids activities. 11am-4:30pm, FREE. (9/21/19)

Twin Cities Harvest Festival & Maze | Brooklyn Park
This destination festival includes a mega corn maze (and a mini one for kids!), corn pit, petting zoo and hayrides. Additional activities available for an extra fee. Open weekends 10am-6pm, $10-$12/pp. (9/21-22/19)

Delano Oktoberfest | Delano
FREE kinderspiel (kids play) area featuring bounce houses, games of skill & excitement with Oktoberfest prizes. $5/adult. (9/21/19)

Art on the Strip | Bass Lake Road and Sherburne Ave N, Crystal
Artists, performers, salsa dancing, dance party, create your own lawn signs. 10am-1pm, FREE admission. (9/28/19)

Scarecrow Festival | Emma Krumbees, Belle Plaine
Admission includes activities like tractor trikes, wagon rides, a slide and the annual Great Scarecrow Display. (They did not updated their website in 2019, but they did host the festival.) Open daily 10am-6pm, $6/pp.

2020 OCTOBER FESTIVALS CANCELLED OR NOT YET ANNOUNCED

Family Fun Saturdays | Barten Pumpkins, New Prague
Play free pumpkin bowling and and take the kids for free pony rides, hay rides, and caricature drawings. 10am-2pm, FREE admission. (Oct 3 & 10, 2020)

Oct 10, 2020: Fall on the Farm | Eidem Homestead, Brooklyn Park – Cancelled.
Join in harvest time, cider pressing, pumpkin carving and more. 12-3pm, $4-$6/pp, 4 & under free.

St Paul Oktoberfest | Historic Schmidt Brewery
Opening parade, bed races and a kids carnival. FREE admission.

Celebrate the Harvest | Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista
Dog shows, pumpkin weigh-off, wagon rides, crafts, cooking demos & more. 9:30am-3:30pm, FREE. (10/5/19)

Harvest  Fest | Frogtown Farm Park, St Paul
Games, festivities and cook off. 4pm-7pm, FREE admission. (10/10/19)

Fall Into Winter Fair | Afton Alps, Hastings
Family entertainment at Afton’s annual Ski & Snowboard Swap includes chairlift rides, inflatables, live music, movies and more. FREE admission.

Stillwater Harvest Fest | Downtown Stillwater
Kids activities all day both days, plus don’t miss the pumpkin regatta & giant pumpkin drop. 10am-6pm, FREE. (10/12-13/19)

NOT RETURNING FOR 2020

A Sibley Site Haunting | Sibley Historic Site
A guided flashlight tour of the Faribault basement and the Sibley House with “ghosts” from different eras of the Sibley Site, s’mores and mysterious questions. Recommended for ages 13+/. 7-9pm, $10/pp
