Spring is starting to peek out at us after that long, cold winter; and I don’t have a single outdoor activity on this list. Sorry. The good news is, it is only going to get nicer. If you do want an outdoor activity, there are some on the Family Fun Calendar. With St. Patricks day coming on Monday, I picked a couple Irish-inspired activities. I also picked a favorite local band and one of the dinosaur exhibits happening in St. Paul. None of these activities require pre-registration this week. You can just decide to go!
Ongoing:Ultimate Dinosaurs Science Museum of Minnesota, 120 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102 Now through August 24, 2014; Regular Museum Hours Tickets: $9.00-$28.00/per person
It’s Dinosaur season in St. Paul. If you have little ones who LOVE dinosaurs, you are in luck. Now through the end of summer, you can see Dinosaurs at the Science Museum. Actually, if I remember correctly, they always have some dinosaur stuff, but right now they have an actual exhibit. Learn more from Gianna about this and the other dinosaur exhibits in Dinosaurs Around Town.
St. Patrick’s Day (and other March) Crafts Heartfelt, 4306 Upton Ave S Minneapolis, Minnesota 55410 All March; Monday – Saturday 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday 11 am to 4 pm $10-$78, Depending on Craft Choice
Heartfelt is unique among other stores with crafts because, although they have some scheduled crafts, most of them are drop-in crafts. They plan a new selection each month, you can pick the crafts you like and drop in when its convenient for you. Gianna has a list of all the March Heartfelt Crafts here. This would be a great weekend to drop in and make a Leprechaun or a Rainbow Treasure Box. I am kind of partial to the Pussy Willow Cottage.
Saturday:Bunny Clogs Icehouse Minnneapolis, 2528 Nicollet Ave South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55404 Saturday March 15, 2014; 11:00 a.m. (10:00 doors) $8.00 per person; under 2 free

Want to be a little Irish this weekend? The Irish Music and Dance Association is throwing an Irish-style dance party at the Landmark Center. It’s actually a two-day celebration. They’ll be there on Monday, too. Besides the dancing, they’ll be crafts and activities.
