Autumn is here officially, but the weather is holding out and this weekend will be beautiful. I have a nice mix of indoor and outdoor opportunities this weekend. As always, there are more options on our Calendars. Finally, we have a favor to ask you. If you get to our site through Facebook and enjoy these Weekly Free Lists or any of our other posts, please consider sharing or leaving a comment on our Facebook Link to the article. This is how Facebook knows we are not just spamming you with unwanted material.
This event is in conjunction with the Farmers Market. This is a great time to explore the Mill Ruins. There will be plenty to do outside, and if you want to pay the museum admission, there is more inside.
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The Raptor Center of the University of Minnesota and Carpenter Nature Center will host a Fall Raptor Release to celebrate the Raptor Center’s 40th Anniversary. Four to six birds will be released. Arrive early for either the 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. programs as you will need time to get your vehicle parked and walk to the release site. The day is full of fun with orchard hay wagon tours, educational raptor displays, kids’ activities and more.

If you never got around to pre-ordering tickets for the Smithsonian’s Museum Day Live, you are in luck! The Minnesota History Center is offering free admission to all visitors on Saturday. What a great time to explore the Toys Exhibit! Plus, it will be Dakota/Ojibwe Family Day: Toys and Games — It can be a day full of toys!
Kidspo – Kids & Family ExpoEagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN Saturday, September 27, 2014; 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
I learned about Kidspo through the Children’s Theatre Company. They will be there with give-aways and a performance by the characters of Busytown. The Science Museum will also be there and the first 400 children through the door will receive a free ticket to the Science Museum. Your kids can also visit The Blast Indoor Playground for free during the expo. This is one of the more affordable indoor playgrounds around the Twin Cities, but why not check it out for free this weekend? There are some ticketed pay activities, but there are tons of free activities. Your kids could easily fill in afternoon exploring.
