I think, like a lot of parents, I dream of having a home that is more of a cozy little landing pad for our adventures than a storage facility for our stuff. So I have been collecting up ideas for clutter-free gifts of adventure through membership to museums and other fun places.

We’ve added a few more options this year, and all memberships have been verified and updated for 2017. November and December are the time to think about memberships, because several places offer pre-holiday or end-of-the-year discounts.

It was a cold date night
And without a hint of a grimace
I held my husband’s hand
to go to How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

The mean, old Grinch
starts out alone and sore
But your love for him
will grow three times bigger than before.

Of course the Grinch (when we first encounter him, that is) would rather we leave the theater scorning everything about Christmas. That’s precisely what he’s been doing from his icy mountaintop cave for more than half a century. His only companion is his poor pooch Max, a closet Christmas fan and forced accomplice when the Grinch decides he’s going to rob the holiday from his neighbors in Whoville.

Last Firefly at Children’s Theatre Company – Review

Each year, Children’s Theatre Company puts on at least one production that is geared toward middle grade to teen audiences. This year that play is Last Firefly – an exciting and sometimes unsettling hero adventure.
