Family Fun Twin Cities has got a little crush on Heartfelt Crafts in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis. It’s a completely charming little shop crammed with toys and materials designed to spark imaginative play. It’s also a workshop of sorts, a space where families can pop in to craft together, or take one of Heartfelt’s wonderful preschool classes. I brought my then-3-year-old daughter, Olivia, to Heartfelt’s Bunny Festival last year and thought I’d share a few of the activities offered. The shop will celebrating their annual festival again this year on April 8 & 9, 2014.

heartfelt craftsThe hour-long class included baking (fresh, bunny-shaped buns), crafting (wooden bead bunnies painted with watercolor crayons) and the chance to visit with a live bunny named Benson. The activities are fairly simple, but most preschoolers will need a little help from caregivers to complete them. I was somewhat distracted by Olivia’s toddler sister; fortunately there are plenty of hands-on delights for little siblings to explore: a treehouse to hide in, beautiful wooden cars and trucks to test drive, and lots of soft, felted wool to play with.

heartfelt craftsI encourage any family to give Heartfelt’s crafts or preschool classes a try. And a special shout-out to those parents who are convinced they are craft-challenged (like me) and/or don’t have a space in their home dedicated to creative, messy play (again, right here): Heartfelt’s got you covered!

  • Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up
losing many months of hard work due to no data
backup. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?

I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you recommend starting with a free platform
like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options
out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any ideas?
