Lake Hiawatha Park features 241 acres of mature trees, wide open spaces, and a beautiful lake. It is a favorite park for its pool and beaches.  In the winter, Minneapolis Parks maintains an ice rink at this location.

Water Fun at Lake Hiawatha Park

Minneapolis Beaches are open from mid-June to late August. Lake Hiawatha Beach has no lifeguard on duty. The wading pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and has a zero-depth entry great for little swimmers and some fun splash features for the older ones. There is also a playground within a few yards of the pool.

Winter at Lake Hiawatha Park

In the winter months, Lake Hiawatha maintains outdoor skating rinks for both hockey and skating. There is a warming room and some free loaner skates available.

Birthday Parties

MPRB wants you to use your park facilities to their full potential! Individuals and groups are encouraged to use the centers and park spaces for self-directed activities. There are different permit requirements and special use fees, depending on the use.
