June Summer Entertainment

Get a jump start on June! It’s packed with parks hosting FREE summer entertainment for families, tons of places to splash about and cool off, and FREE library summer reading events that will keep them busy until school calls again.

June in Minneapolis/St. Paul

 

 

MINNEAPOLIS: Minneapolis Movies in the Parks, ongoing Mon-Sat starting 6/6, 15 min past sunset • Minneapolis Music in the Parks, 6 venues presenting music nightly starting 6/1.

ST. PAUL: Music & Entertainment in the Parks, Daily starting 6/1 with FREE concerts, family movies, theater productions and more. Check the link for a complete listing of events & locations • Groovin’ in the Garden @ Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, ongoing Wednesdays starting 6/15 with FREE concerts, a climbing wall, bounce house, and lawn games for kids, and food available for purchase. • Movies in the Parks, 6/24 & 6/28.

COON RAPIDS: Summer Concert Series, Coon Rapids Regional Park performance pavilion, ongoing Thursdays starting 6/9 – FREE.

MAPLE GROVE: Sounds of Summer, Town Green Maple Grove, 7991 Main St N, includes Celebrate the Family, ongoing Thursdays starting 6/16 and Movies by Moonlight to come in July & August.

NEW BRIGHTON: Night at the Movies, Townsend Park, 6/17 – FREE.

APPLE VALLEY: Music in Kelley Park, ongoing Fridays starting 6/3 with FREE music 6-9pm, food available for purchase, prizes and a splash pad for the kids to cool off in.

BURNSVILLE: Thursday Rockin’ Lunch Hour Concerts & Thursday Rockin’ Readers, ongoing Thursdays starting 6/16 • Friday Night Flicks on the Bricks, ongoing Fridays starting 6/10 – both in Nicollet Commons Park, plus enjoy the landscaped splash pad – FREE.

EAGAN: Eagan Puppet Wagon, Eagan parks, ongoing Mon-Fri starting 6/11. Bring a blanket for the shows, then stay after for art projects and interactive activities – FREE • Eagan Market Fest, Eagan Central Park Festival Grounds, ongoing Wednesdays, 4-8pm starting 6/1. FREE family fun: The grounds buzz with weekly concerts and themed nights including one devoted solely to families (Kidsdance DJs, free inflatables, lawn games and craft projects galore). WOODBURY: Starlight Cinema Outdoor Movie Series: Alexander and the…Very Bad Day @ Ojibway Park, 6/18, pre-show activities begin at 7pm, movie starts at dusk. Also in Ojibway Park, the U of M Raptor Center entertains 6/17 • Woodbury Puppet Wagon, Woodbury parks, ongoing Mon-Thurs starting 6/13. Plus, Puppet Wagon Preview Party at Kinderberry Hill, 6/8, with shows, crafts and popsicles. All activities are FREE.

BLOOMINGTON: Arts in the Parks includes the Monday Morning Kids Series at Moir Park starting 6/13, Tuesday Evening Performance Series at Normandale Bandshell starting 6/14, and Moonlight Movies at Red Haddox Field starting 6/11. All are FREE to attend.

CHASKA: Kids Entertainment Series, 6/14 & 6/28 • Wednesday Night Concerts, ongoing Wednesdays starting 6/15 • Ice Cream Social & KidsDance, 6/30 – all activities in Fireman’s Park.

EDEN PRAIRIE: Itty Bitty Beach Parties, Round Lake Park, ongoing Fridays starting 6/17 with music and fun for kids • Eden Prairie Park Players Presents: Seussical, 6/17-19 & 6/23-26 at the Staring Lake Amphitheater, 14800 Pioneer Trail. Both events are FREE.

EDINA: Centennial Lakes Park is a haven for FREE summer entertainment! Events are held daily Sun-Thurs and include family-friendly concerts at the outdoor amphitheater starting 6/1, Movies in the Park ongoing Thursday evenings starting 6/2, the Farmers Market ongoing Thursdays starting 6/16 and the Edina Model Yacht Club races on select Thursdays starting 6/4.

MINNETOKNA: Arts in the Park events at the Minnetonka Civic Center Amphitheater include Theater in the Park performances of The Wizard of Oz, 6/17-18 and Music in the Park ongoing Tuesdays starting 6/21. Movies in the Park to follow in August. All activities are FREE.

RICHFIELD: Kids Entertainment in Augsburg Park, 70th & Nicollet, ongoing Tuesdays at noon starting 6/7. FREE outdoor music and entertainment plus FREE breakfast & lunch served for kids.
