SOME FUN FAMILY IDEAS FOR THIS WEEKEND
Roseville’s CENTRAL PARK sprawls with things to do for the whole family. The park grounds are so large, the city has divided them into six segments (connected by foot & bike paths), each with its own unique fun features. For a night out that will please everyone on the guest list, hit up the Lexington Avenue section of Central Park. Bring a picnic and spread out on the grassy amphitheater to catch one of the many musical acts that play on summer evenings. When kids need to wiggle they can head to the large playground or bring bikes to tool around Bennet Lake.
THIS WEEKEND AT CENTRAL PARK!
Roseville Girl Scouts Fall Fun Fest
Bring the whole family and sample what Girl Scouts has to offer. Activities are geared toward girls in grades K-3, but family members of all ages are welcome to participate. Dress for an outdoor event. Nov 6, 1-2:30pm, FREE.
Need an indoor activity near Central Park? (It is November in Minnesota, after all…) The western segment of the park off Dale Avenue contains the HARRIET ALEXANDER NATURE CENTER. Indoors, kids are greeted by touch-and-see exhibits, a nature library and live animals. Poke into the giant cottonwood tree, modeled after an ancient tree found right on the nature center grounds. Here’s my preschooler pictured peeking in; what will your little one discover?

Get Creative with art Experiences
Walker Art Center | 725 Vineland Pl, Minneapolis, MN 55403
It’s not always easy to enjoy art with little ones (or grade schoolers or tweens, for that matter), but Walker attempts to make it a more inclusive experience during their First Free Saturday program. The museum buzzes with art-making workshops, kid films, scavenger hunts throughout the galleries and live performances that stretch young attention spans and might spark conversation about the art. Nov 6, 10am-3pm. FREE admission, but reserved tickets are required.
Mess Hall, 906 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN 55343
Free (messy) art projects, treats & other activities to celebrate the art space opening. Nov 6, 12-3pm.
Try a new sport!
