A Press Release from the Minneapolis Parks:

With above average temperatures forecasted for this coming weekend, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will keep 31 wading pools open through Sunday, Sept. 8.

Approximately 30 wading pools located on or adjacent to Minneapolis Public School property closed August 26, the first day of school in Minneapolis, to ensure the safety of students.

The 31 pools that remain open through Sunday, Sept. 8 are listed below. Additionally, seven wading pools will remain open past Sept. 8. These pools will remain open through mid-September, or until the weather cools.

Water parks closed and lifeguard services at beaches ended for the season on Sunday, Aug. 26, with the majority of lifeguards returning to college and high school classes. Beaches remain open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Swim docks at lakes Nokomis, Calhoun and Harriet have been removed as of Wednesday. Docks at Cedar Lake, as well as swim ropes and buoys at all of MPRB beaches, will be removed by Sept. 11.
