 ns Rice Park into "Ice Park! When many of us think of the St Paul Winter C
 arnival\, the first thing to pop into our heads is a collection of carving
 s done in ice. You can watch the ice carvers work their magic throughout t
 he first weekend (please see the link for individual competition times)\; 
 or you can visit the sculptures throughout the run of the Winter Carnival 
 in Rice Park. Mother Nature permitting\, as always. Competition runs Janua
 ry 22\, 7pm to January 24\, 7pm and is free to observe.\n\n\nAbout the St 
 Paul Winter Carnival\nFun\, frosty traditions abound at the spirited and h
 istoric Saint Paul Winter Carnival\, spread over 10 days in January and Fe
 bruary! Highlights include the ice sculptures in Rice Park\, Ice Castles a
