DESCRIPTION:The beloved St Paul Winter Carnival Ice Carving Competition tur
 ns Rice Park into "Ice Park"! When many of us think of the St Paul Winter 
 Carnival\, the first thing to pop into our heads is a collection of carvin
 gs done in ice. You can watch the ice carvers work their magic throughout 
 the first weekend (please see the link for individual competition times)\;
  or you can visit the sculptures throughout the run of the Winter Carnival
  in Rice Park. Mother Nature permitting\, as always. Competition runs Janu
 ary 22\, 7pm to January 24\, 7pm and is free to observe.\n\n\nAbout the St
  Paul Winter Carnival\nFun\, frosty traditions abound at the spirited and 
 historic Saint Paul Winter Carnival\, spread over 10 days in January and F
 ebruary! Highlights include the ice sculptures in Rice Park\, Ice Castles
