Located in the neighborhood of the same name, Whittier Park offers families a playground with a tot lot and a Little Free Library, a wading pool and a picnic area with drinking fountain and restroom facilities. It also has various sports fields and courts. The recreation center has a gym, craft room, and spaces available to the public.
Whittier Park Recreation Center - Major Rehab in 2018
The recreation center's amenities include a community kitchen, computer lab, craft room and gym. There is also a meeting room and multipurpose room for use by the public. It is not air-conditioned. The recreation center is expected to be rehabbed from June 8 to August 31, 2018. Work includes a roof replacement for the gym. While portions of the park required closing for safety, the wading pool reopened on August 3, 2018, and the indoor gym is expected to open during the week of August 6 to August 10, 2018. The playground is also now open. However, Mueller Park and Bryant Square Park are also recommended nearby locations for wading pools and playgrounds.

Free Summer Meals at Whittier Park
Whittier Park participates in the summer meals program. All children under 18 qualify for this program. Check the park's website in June for hours and dates.
Whittier Wading Pool
Whittier Park is adjacent to Whittier International School and daycare. The pool opens after school releases for the summer break and closes before school resumes. Minneapolis wading pools are unguarded.
