We are happy to share that while the Wabasha Street Caves closed at the end of their fall 2020 season when the owners announced their retirement, they decided to re-open in 2022 because of popular demand. Cave tours, swing dancing and events are back. Located along the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul, The Wabasha Street Caves are mostly an event venue. While the website suggests it as a birthday party venue, pricing is more appropriate for weddings and other adult events than for a child’s birthday party. Rentals do not include any entertainment or food. However, tours are an affordable family treat. The caves offer a variety of themed and regular tours. Learn a little about Saint Paul history, including prohibition and gangsters. The owners recommend that participants arrive 15 minutes early for Free Parking. Tours are held on Mondays at 1 pm, Thursdays at 5 pm. and weekends at 11 am plus a second tour at 1:30pm on Saturdays. (We recommend that you check the sites calendar to verify these times before heading out.) These tours last approximately 40 minutes and cost $10-$11/person with children under 5 free. The tours are handicap accessible. They now offer $8 Troll Tales tours geared toward kids and led by a troll. The tour includes a craft and photo op. These are not offered year round. Look for them during special school breaks. (Adults are $10).
