Twin Cities Music Therapy Services, LLC (TCMTS) is a music therapy clinic located in The Center for Performing Arts in South Minneapolis. With a mission of “providing the highest quality services using music to promote health through empowering children and adults of all abilities to become actively invested in their process of growth,” TCMTS offers individual and group music therapy sessions both in their own space in client homes. They also offer Therapeutic Music Lessons and Community Outreach Programs through local organizations and schools. TCMTS specializes in working with children and adults with autism, developmental, physical, and neurological disabilities, but their services are open to all. According to TCMTS, music therapy sessions are “music-centered and creatively facilitated” programs that “utilize individualized, evidence-based treatment.” The sessions “use music to promote growth through discovering and developing a person’s existing strengths and resources.” Sessions will include singing or playing music, improvisation, songwriting, guided relaxation, movement, dramatic plan and learning. Meet in the Music summer camps are offered each July as week-long, half-day programs for kids ages 6-9 and 10-13. One session per age group is offered each summer. These camps are featured in our annual summer camp guides, where we update prices and dates annually. What Is Music Therapy?
