Sanborn ParkĀ is a nearly 9-acre park in Robbinsdale. Family-friendly amenities include a playground, sports fields and courts, walking trails, and space to picnic shelter. This park is home to Robbinsdale’s summer movies, Whiz Bang Days with the Pet & Wheel Parade in July and Spooky Sanborn in October. It is one of three sites that traditionally serves free summer meals to kids in Robbinsdale. There are several Crystal Lakes in Minnesota. The Robbinsdale Crystal Lake has a pier at this park and public boat launch at Lakeview Terrace Park. The DNR tells us that you could catch black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, green sunfish, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, tiger muskellunge, walleye, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, common carp, white sucker, fathead minnow, golden shiner and goldfish. However there is a size and possession limit on muskellunge. Because Sanborn Park offers off-street parking, it can be a good starting point for a family bike ride. Sanborn’s paths connect to paths through Hollingsworth Park, which leads up toĀ Crystal Lake Regional Trail. From there you can connect to the Medicine Lake Regional Trail and the Rush Creek Regional Trail. Picnic facilities at Sanborn are available to rent for a low hourly fee.
