Potekglass Studio in northeast Minneapolis has studio hours for creating with glass, sells glass-making supplies, and offers classes and camps in glass making to the public. Created by Malcom Potek, a working artist who has spent the past 26 years working with glass. Potekglass specializes in education, architectural elements and fine art. The studio operates under the principle that “to make things is the thing that makes us human. Classes are available for students ages 9 to 13 with a parent or guardian. Older students can attend on their own but require a signed parental release. Summer camps for kids are offered and can be found in our annual summer camp guide. Twin Cities Summer Camps: Art Camps Younger students are welcome to visit as part of a field trip. Schools and groups can visit the studio to learn from a Malcom Potek. Participants will learn about craftsmanship, geometry and focus from local artist. All ages are welcome for field trips. Trips are offered in three tiers and price levels. Expect the visit to last approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Working with glass requires some safety precautions.
