Phillips Park has a playground and tot lot and a community center with aquatics facility, fitness center and community spaces. It also houses tenants, including Ventura Village, Waite House, Minneapolis Swims, and Somali-American Communities. When using GPS, search for this park as “Phillips Community Center”. “Phillips Park” will take you to East Phillips Park, which is 4 blocks east of of this park.

Phillips Park Community Center and Aquatics Facility

The Aquatic Center’s 6-lane pool and spectator area has been newly renovated and a new 4-lane teaching pool, family changing rooms, a community meeting room, and public restrooms were also added. This is MPRB’s first, year-round indoor swimming pool.

Note: If you have children over the age of 12, it would be worthwhile to comparison shop. A family membership to the YMCA would cost less than 3 Monthly passes and most community rec centers offer family rates that include all children under 18. The facility does offer discounted rates to those who live in the neighborhood.

Phillips Park Fitness Center

Phillips Fitness Center memberships cost $10/month and include unlimited access to workout equipment, group fitness classes and certified personal training. While memberships are 18+, there are several activities available for children and teens (many of which are free), that could make regular family visits to this park an affordable family fitness plan. Visit the Minneapolis Parks Activity Search page for ideas.

Birthday Parties at Phillips Park

MPRB wants you to use your park facilities to their full potential! Individuals and groups are encouraged to use the centers and park spaces for self-directed activities. There are different permit requirements and special use fees, depending on the use. Make your child’s birthday party special! MPRB is committed to making your child’s birthday a fun and memorable event in the parks.
