Padelford Riverboats offers sightseeing cruises, dinner and other specialty cruises and occasional kids cruises. Please see their website for public cruises. The boat launches from Harriet Island Regional Park near downtown St Paul and travels southwest on a 90 minute round-trip tour of life along the Mississippi River. There is occasional narration if you are interested in the role of the river in the birth of the Twin Cities. Mondays are discounted days. Families with kids, you are free to move about the boat during the cruise and are encouraged to do so to get the best views of wildlife on the riverbank and that mesmerizing red paddle wheel. Snacks are available for purchase; please no outside food or beverages. Look for annual Mothers Day and Fathers Day Cruises as well as picnic cruises and lunch and lock cruises. There are also daily sight-seeing tours. The best deal is the Monday Madness Cruise when tickets are $10 for everyone. Season passes are available for families (or groups) of four. The pass entitles holder and 3 guests to Sightseeing boarding passes during the season, subject to availability, plus a 10% discount on up to 4 tickets for select non-sightseeing public cruises.
