One Heartland is a sleep-away camp in Willow River (one and a half hours north of the Twin Cities) designed for children “facing social isolation, intolerance or serious health challenges”. Created in 1993, the camp program strives to be a a welcoming, bully-free environment while teaching hands-on learning and life-skills in a summer camp setting. Annual summer camps include a camp for For youth living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, camp for children experiencing housing instability, camps for LGTBQ+ young people, leadership camp and a family camp.
