Ojibway Park in Woodbury has several family-friendly amenities, including a Skate Park, a playground with both accessible and less accessible play structures and space for picnics with grills. There are also a variety of sports courts, paved and unpaved trails and winter recreation amenities. The park building has restrooms and there is off-street parking with space for 260 vehicles. The city hosts year-round special events at this park, including the annual egg hunt in spring.

9 Ideas for Family Fun at Ojibway Park

  1. Play on the playgrounds. There are a couple playgrounds to choose from, and the new accessible playground has some fun elements, like a rotating net climber. It looks like a large hamster-ball, but it works like a merry-go-round.
  2. Skate. Bring your skateboards. This park is home to Woodbury’s public skate park.
  3. Pack a picnic. There are 6 picnic tables and an open air shelter at this park. There are also grills available.
  4. Practice baseball or bring a playground ball for kickball.
  5. Play some dodgeball or practice soccer in the green space.
  6. Bring a volleyball. The park has 2 sand volleyball courts
  7. Toss some horseshoes.
  8. Take a walk. The park has both paved and unpaved trails
  9. Ice skate or cross country ski in the winter.

Ojibway Skate Park

The skate plaza was designed with the help of local youth. It was designed to feel like street skating with quite a bit of open skate space. Woodbury shared this Designing the Ojibway Park Skate Plaza video on YouTube.

Starlight Cinema Summer Movies

Ojibway Park is the site of Woodbury’s free summer movie program, Starlight Cinema. The series brings popular family movies to the park on a two-story inflatable screen with stadium speakers. Movies begin at dusk with activities prior to the screening. The public is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. We also suggest using whatever form of bug repellent you prefer.

Ojibway Park Redesign Project

Construction was completed and the reopening was celebrated in October 2019. Updates included a new park building, destination playground, and a boardwalk.

Winter at Ojibway Park

In the winter this park maintains cross country ski trails and a lighted ice rinks with a warming house.

Rinks are open, dependent on weather, from late December through the end of February. The City of Woodbury weather line — (651) 714-3569 — has up-to-date information regarding closures. Warming house hours are from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays (including school release days) and and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. .

Birthday Parties at Ojibway Park

Ojibway Park Shelter is available to rent between April 14th and October 14th. The shelter holds up to 48 people. The park building is also available for private events. It includes a serving kitchen, patio space, audio/video equipment, and Wi-Fi.
