Oakdale Nature Preserve is the home of the award-winning Oakdale Discovery Center, a unique place to learn about nature. In the discovery center, you’ll find rotating art exhibits, a large aquarium, a hands-on wildlife exhibit room, and books – that you can read on the patio or next to the fire. Outside you’ll find a playground area, a forest garden, picnic shelters, 220 acres of recreation space and hiking trails. There is also a historic one-room schoolhouse nearby.

Birthday Parties at Oakdale Nature Preserve

The Community Room of the discovery center is available to rent. Prices range from $30 to $75/hour with a 3-hour minimum. Food must be catered or be commercial (you can bring in restaurant subs or pizza). No home-prepared food is allowed. If you will have more than 75 guests, you must choose from three approved caters.

Art Gallery

The Art Gallery is free and open during discovery center hours. It carries a rotating collection of works by local artists throughout the year.  A new artist is featured monthly.
