Nathan Hale Park is across Summit Avenue from Summit Overlook Park, with the two parks creating a triangular hourglass shape. In the summer, this park offers open lawn for outdoor family yard games and activities. In the winter, there is an Ice Rink, but no warming house.

Nathan Hale Statue at Nathan Hale Park

If you have a child studying the Revolutionary War or who is interested in spies, Nathan Hale Park could provide an interesting outing to visit the statue of the Revolutionary War hero known for the quote, “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”

No Outdoor Ice Skating Rink

The City of St. Paul has traditionally provided a FREE outdoor ice rink at this park for public use when weather and ice quality cooperate. However, it was among several parks that St. Paul eliminated from their maintenance budget in 2020. We hope to see it return in the future, but to date the City does not list it among their outdoor rinks.
