Moon Palace Books is located on Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis. We don’t really have a lot of family-friendly stuff to share right now. The bottom-line is that Moon Palace is open for book shopping, but still requires masks. They are beginning to bring back events, which sometimes include kids events. We are holding spaces for their other kid-friendly events in this article, but

  1. Story times are currently on hold, and have been since 2019.
  2. kids events are still rare but increasing
  3. Midtown Farmers Market has moved back to its permanent location, which is still close enough to combine visits.
  4. Nobody appears to know what is up with Geek Love Café.

Check out the bookshop’s Kids page to find kid-friendly events and (we hope eventually) story times. There is also a list of bestselling kids titles on this page.

Storytime with Mama Rey

Moon Palace was one of our featured venues in our Top Kids Storytimes in the Twin Cities list, however story times went on hiatus in 2019. We are still waiting for these events to return.

Geek Love Café

The coffee shop in Moon Palace is Geek Love Café. Book lovers will enjoy the book-themed entrée names. The Café is currently on hiatus with plans no publicly shared plans to re-open. Check out our Kids Eat Free or Cheap Twin Cities List for other kid-friendly restaurant options.

Music at Moon Palace Books

At night Moon Palace becomes a 21+ music venue, hosting up to 20 nights of live music each month! Not really a family thing, but if mom and dad want a date night, this could be fun to check out.
