Moir Central Park is an over 200-acre park with mostly standard playground equipment and large metal bench swing. Other family friendly amenities include a hiking trail, a permanent disc golf course, sand volleyball and sports fields. This is a dog-friendly park, but keep your dogs leashed and pick up after them, of course. There are seasonal restroom facilities and off-street parking available. Families enjoy packing picnics to eat in this big space. This park is also the home of the popular Monday Morning Kids Series. Read more about that below.

Birthday Parties at Moir Park Pavilion

Moir Central Park has two shelters available for rentals between April 15 and October 15. The shelters have electricity, grills, restrooms, and drinking fountains and are affordably priced for family use.

Moir Park Disc Golf

This park has a free disc golf course. It is considered a beginners course and can be found along the perimeter of the park. Bloomington upgraded the course during the summer of 2022 with new concrete tee markers and new baskets. The course layout remains the same.

Nine Mile Creek

Among the Moir Park Trails is a portion of the Nine Mile Creek Trail, a 15-mile multi-use trail that travels from Hopkins to Richfield. If you are biking the whole trail as a family, Moir Park can be a planned rest stop along the way. This is also a fun place to wade and look for minnows. This is a great great kid-friendly hiking spot. You can start at the park and follow the stream as far as little feet want to walk or all the way to the Minnesota River (approximately 2 miles).

Monday Morning Kids Series

Infuse your summer with music at the Monday Morning Kids Series. Kids and families are invited to Moir Park Mondays on select days throughout the summer to enjoy music, dancing and fun. All shows start at 10:30 a.m. and are free and open to the public.
