Hiawatha School Park and Recreation Center feature a playground with tot lot and a wading pool. There is an area for picnicking and a garden area. There are playing fields that offer plenty of running space when not in use.

Winter at Hiawatha School Park

In the winter months, this park maintains outdoor skating rinks for both hockey and skating. There is a warming room and some free loaner skates available.

Birthday Parties

MPRB wants you to use your park facilities to their full potential! Individuals and groups are encouraged to use the centers and park spaces for self-directed activities. There are different permit requirements and special use fees, depending on the use. Make your child’s birthday party special! MPRB is committed to making your child’s birthday a fun and memorable event in the parks.

Hiawatha School Park Wading Pool

Because the park and school share space, the wading pool will opens after the last day of school and closes just prior to school resuming. The pool is free to use between the hours 10 am to 9 pm daily. There are no lifeguards on duty.

Free Summer Meals for Kids

This park has participated in the summer meals program, offering free weekday meals to children under 18 years old. Summer meals run from mid-June until mid-August 19. Please call ahead or check the website to confirm this program has continued.
