Federal Reserve Bank Tours are available for families and groups to walk through the facilities and learn about our banking system. These tours are designed for older kids (ages 16+) and adults.

Free Guided Federal Reserve Bank Tours

Free guided tours can be scheduled by groups, such as  home school or scouting groups of 10 to 50 are available. Families and individual can register for public tours at pre-set times. These tours are best for teens and adults and require over an hour of walking. Bring a valid ID and be prepared to walk through an x-ray machine.

The tour lasts approximately an hour and 15 minutes. Some of the things you will learn on the tour include:
  • How currency gets from the Federal Reserve to your bank.
  • How the Fed sets interest rates.
  • How the work of the Federal Reserve affects us all.
  • The history and structure of the Federal Reserve.
  • How the Fed attempts to keep out economy stable via the dual mandate from Congress of maximum employment and price stability.
  • Banking services the Fed offers to financial institutions and the federal government

Alexander Hamilton and America’s First Central Bank

Exhibition Runs April though August 2023

During the months of April through August, the Fed will offer a special exhibit about the first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton and his plan to establish America’s first national bank, the Bank of the United States.

This exhibit is part of all public tours.
