Elko Speedway is advertised as the premier racing facility in the Midwest. It is a NASCAR affiliate and has been for almost 30 years. The Speedway hosts one kids night and one free night this year. Races are every Saturday night in the summer months. Race Times are Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Tailgating for both the races and the films is encouraged at the speedway. Tailgating times are usually from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm on movie nights and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on race nights. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased at the speedway, but carry-ins of alcohol are not allowed. The Drive In shows first run films on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer months. Friday night movies include an offer for BOGO adult tickets to the Saturday race. Current movies can be found on the front page of the website, or on the drive-in’s Facebook page. Not too far of a drive, Elko is approximately 45 minutes to an hour south of Minneapolis and Saint Paul; and only 10 minutes south of Burnsville.
