Keep Browsing Twin Cities Businesses:
Courageous heARTS announced in September 2020 that it would close shop in October. While we are sad to lose another small business, if you are looking for a place to make a mess and leave it behind, we have a few other options for Arts and Crafts for Kids Around Town. Courageous heARTS was a non-profit art studio with a mission to help young people create their own experiences in expressive arts, community building and leadership development in a safe and empowering space. The studio offered open studio times, classes, workshops and camps. On Saturday mornings between 9am and noon and Sundays from 3pm to 6pm, the studio is open to people of all-ages for drop-in, self-directed art. Families can stay for as much or as little of that time as they want. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Children under age 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver. The cost of open studio is $20 per family for up to 6 family members. Additional or single youth cost $5/session and additional or single adults cost $10/session. There are also reduced price options for multi-visits, memberships or those eligible for scholarships. See the website for more information. Note: Occasionally the studio cancels open studio hours for other events or weather. It is a good idea to check ahead, especially if this is your first visit. For those who would like some direction, creative labs are offered. These special classes are taught by their seasonal artist and residence and change regularly, covering a variety of mediums.
