Future Updates to Brookdale Park

In its 2017 Park System Plan, the city notes that the basketball court at this park is currently in poor condition and sits on a bog. If maintained, it will need reconstruction, but the location may make it cost prohibitive. Other possible future updates include:

  • Developing a trail to connect an existing trail to the trail that leads to the Shingle Creek Regional Trail;
  • Converting an informal ball field into a tall grass area; and
  • Creating a  natural resource plan to both manage buckthorn and sustain native prairie and wild flower areas.
