The Apple Valley Community Center offers family-friendly amenities that include regular tot times and open gym times, playground equipment and a gymnasium. It has indoor restrooms and free wifi available. In the winter, the city maintains an outdoor ice rink with a warming house. The community center offers several options for open gym time. Admission is free, but is subject to cancellation if the gym is needed for a tournament. When programs are parent/child, supervision is the responsibility of the parent. The city maintains two hockey rinks, a pleasure rink and a warming house at the community center. Weather permitting, Apple Valley opens and maintains rinks from mid-December through mid-February.
